Introduction

Japan International Property Awards (JIPA) showcases Southeast Asia’s best developments from residential to commercial, recognizing top regional developers and their flagship projects that passed the rigid Japanese standards of development excellence.

Nominees hail mostly from Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, and Indonesia, with other nominations from Maldives, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Vietnam. From a pool of nominees, a select board of judges will choose three nominees maximum for each category:

  • Most Iconic Development
  • Best High-Rise Residential Development
  • Best Family-Friendly Development
  • Best Township
  • Best Resort Home Development
  • Best Green Feature Development
  • Best Hotel Suite Development
  • Best Luxury High-Rise Development

Finalists for the Japan International Property Awards attend the awards night and gala for the announcement of winners, where they not just celebrate their milestone, but also network with fellow developers, brokerages, investors, and media.

As Japan’s prime property awards, winners also get public relations mileage through press releases with the Japanese press. Also, winners get to use the awards logo and banner for their own marketing purposes.

A select and independent board of judges, which includes industry professionals, screens the JIPA nominations to choose up to three finalists per category. They will use weighted marks for responses to criteria/guidelines set out in each category to select the winners.

During the judging session, finalists are required to send a representative, preferably from the senior management of the participating developer, to attend and present the development to the panel of judges.

The judges’ score constitutes 80% of the final score, while 20% will come from public voting at the JIPA website.
